About Us
Effective help in a busy world
I am lucky enough to have reached the age of early retirement. Always needing a new challenge and embracing change I set up CAST to share the wealth of knowledge that I have acquired over the last 36 years. With a passion for SEND I decided to make my vision come true and build an organisation that gives real help to settings such as schools and foster placements to help support the ever changing face of educating and caring for this generation of children. I offer comprehensive advice, support and training to anyone who needs it. I can also offer bespoke packages for you on request if it is within my realm of expertise.

My Story
I was born in Middlesbrough in the North East. At the age of 18 I moved to Wakefield in West Yorkshire where I studied at Bretton Hall (a college of the University of Leeds) and gained my Bachelor of Education with a specialism in Art and Design.
After a year of travelling I returned to Middlesbrough and gained a teaching job in a local primary school. But I had already fallen in love with West Yorkshire and had been given the opportunity to move to Bradford in 1994. I worked in child protection for 5 years which was both challenging and harrowing! So I made the decision to return to teaching and worked as a supply teacher for 2 years to get a feel for a school that was right for me.
I eventually found a Primary school in Bradford where I stayed for 10 years before getting itchy feet. I spent a day in a local Special School and loved it, so applied for a job.
For the last 14 years I have worked in Special Secondary and for 12 of those years I have worked as the SENCo at the school.
Having reached 55 and finding itchy feet once more I decided to embark on my next exciting adventure.
